CS371p Spring 2021: Elizabeth Rodriguez

What did you do this past week?

If I am being honest, I didn’t do a lot besides projects. I worked on my networks project which is creating a multithreaded UDP client and server, Collatz, and a network security project. It feels as though this week was the week that all of my professors decided to have projects due and it’s really taken a toll.

What’s in your way?

Just time. It feels as though there are not enough hours in the day. I wish I had time to spend on myself, my friends, my family, and school.

What will you do next week?

I am going to be really cracking down on any more projects so that I can get ahead. I am also going to catch up on readings for my classes.

If you read it, what did you think of the Pair Programming?

I really enjoyed it! I’ve read it a couple of times before. Once in operating systems with Norman and another time in Software Engineering with Downing. Almost everything in that article rings true for me. I really enjoy that style of paired programming.

What was your experience of operators, pointers, and references? (this question will vary, week to week)

They were VERY hard to understand for me. I’m not sure why. This week’s lectures were rough. I am hoping to study up and maybe rewatch some lectures to make sure that I understand fully.

What made you happy this week?

Something that made me really happy was getting to spend time in San Antonio with my family. Since I can’t drive back to Austin due to the snow and ice, I’m “stuck” here and I’m enjoying every second of it! It’s great to be able to cuddle with my family, and seeing them always brightens my week. It’s what I look forward to every week, so for that to be extended is nice.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Three words: DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. This is more of a reminder to myself, but don’t forget haha
